Lots of exciting things are happening in sports these days! Off season baseball trades, the Australian Open, battling NBA rivalries, NHL all star game and of course the Super Bowl. So how do you fit in as a true sports fan while keeping your cuteness at winning levels? My first piece of advice is to support a great team…I personally recommend the Detroit Red Wings! But we can’t all root for one of the best professional sports teams in history so stick with where your loyalty lies. My next and maybe most important piece of advice is to not pretend you’re a sports fan just to get someone’s attention. Most fans who travel to a bar or attend a party actually want to watch the game. The only way this could work and not be that annoying is if you are willing to buy drinks for your target and their…

I’ll kick this article off by saying it is coming to you as a “special edition”. ‘Special’ because I usually don’t do left-brained stuff after 10 PM. It’s now 11. So, if you become confused, disoriented and/or nauseous halfway through this rant we’ll chalk it up to my creative side getting the best of me. I’d known for weeks that a good friend of Sally’s had arranged dinner for eight at a fabulous Lebanese resaurant in Camp Hill, PA by the name Cedars. This would be an introduction to real middle eastern cuisine for me, since most of my travels outside the U.S. had taken me to the Pacific Rim, Caribbean, or Europe. This, I expected, would be one of those opportunities to use all five senses essential in getting back to WOW. What I hope to convey are the sights, sounds, textures, tastes, and aroma the best I can…

I had a truly unique mental performance experience yesterday with a professional life coach I’ve been seeing for about the last six months. The process she had me do involved two blank sheets of paper, my brain and a ball point pen. I have yet to determine which of the three I would put stock in if cornered by a street gang in a back alley – – – but I’m leaning toward the pen. Anyway, she asked me to write down my accomplishments for 2010. Since this exercise was a complete surprise to me, my initial response was to go deep into my cortex and dig for something of biblical proportion. I took a minute or so … and with as much conviction I could muster I blurted “eehhh, I got nuthin!” Suzanne Accardo is very patient, insightful, and kind. She could sense I was floundering so, as she…

My thirty-second wedding anniversary this week. Who’d a thunk it? I have to tell you that it was a special event. There wasn’t a lot of fanfare. We didn’t host 150 people. Our parents didn’t go into hock paying for flowers and cake. And we didn’t have to escape the crowds this time in a borrowed heap festooned with beer cans. Rather, it was a getaway like no other the two of us had experienced before. Only 24 hours long, it was just enough to recharge our batteries and reconnect to each other. We talked about our important relationships but not the urgent things. We looked out the windows and said little as the sun soaked our faces. The unimportant, like the weather and what happened in the office on Tuesday, seemed to fade out of existence as we drove the hour it took to get to our destination. Amazingly,…

Dressing to impress does help your social life and in this weather your physical wellness. We all know how important it is to look your best and take care of yourself. We all have our own style and image, what we also have in common is that same style and image may not define you, but it sure does contribute to your social life. The groups we associate ourselves with such as friends and colleagues all tend to dress similar, it is what illustrates that we are part of “the group.” Now that the snow is piling up and the thermostat continues to drop it’s getting harder to keep up that chic look that you have been rocking all fall season. What do you do when your military peacoat and lightweight leopard scarf just isn’t enough to keep you warm? There are a few key accessories you can wrap yourself…
